Happy Juneteenth Everyone
Today is the day we celebrate Juneteenth. On June 19th, 1865 slaves in Texas were told they were free. People celebrated this holiday for a century and a half. It became a federal holiday in 2021.
The day is celebrated by festivals,bbqs, family gatherings and learning about the holiday. It's a day to remember where we came from,where we are and where we are going as black people.
